Objectives

To ensure an efficient management of the scientific and technical activities as well as of the overall administration, providing:

  • Scientific and technical support to all members of the consortium to ensure an efficient achievement of the scientific objectives;
  • Administrative, financial and legal support to all members of the consortium to guarantee the contractual obligations;
  • Specific tools and adapted procedures to ensure effective communication inside and outside the consortium and a day-to-day management.

Description of work

Project management through a dedicated Management Team

The project management, which is the responsibility of Partner 1 – ARMINES, is based on two-head working process with a scientific/technical manager (ST manager) and an administrative/financial/legal manager (AFL manager). They compose the Management Team under the control of the Scientific Coordinator (Alain Thorel), who is in charge of communication inside the consortium and between the consortium and the European Commission.
  • Scientific & Technical Management: The ST Manager is responsible for monitoring the scientific and technical progress of the project related to the objectives foreseen. He works in close collaboration with the Work Package Leaders (WP Leaders), with the partners and the Project Officer from the European Commission. The ST Manager is responsible for following up and providing Activity Reports, Deliverables and other scientific reports as specified in the work plan;
  • Administrative, Financial and Legal Management: The AFL Manager is in charge of the administrative, financial and legal issues of the day-to-day management. He is supported by specific tools as the e-management platform and other management procedures experienced during FP5-FP6. The AFL Manager is in charge of analyzing the costs declared by the consortium and following-up human and financial resources justified by the consortium. He is the interface with the European Commission services for reporting and ensures the good communication within the consortium concerning all administrative, financial and legal issues. The AFL Manager is also responsible for the intellectual property rights and for the financial reports.
