IDEAL Cell: Principal Collaborators

Zdravko Stoynov is a Professor at and the Director of the Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, since 1993. He has a Diploma of Electro-Engineer, a M.Sc, a PhD in Electrochemistry, a Technical D.Sc. and a D.Sc. in Electrochemistry. He has introduced new techniques and approaches for electrochemical methods testing and analysis of electrochemical power sources and develops nonstandard electrochemical instrumentation. He was the Project Coordinator of a “Centre of Excellence” in the FP5 in 2002 on Portable and Emergency Energy Sources, and of many international projects. Since 2000 he has been Chairman of the International Consultative Board of the European Internet Centre on Impedance Spectroscopy. He was Co-Director of NATO Advanced Study Institute “Li-Batteries” and the National Representative at ICSU. He is a Member of World Academy of Arts and Sciences
His main interests and activities are in Electrochemistry, Scientific Instrumentation, Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency, e-science tools. He has authored more than 130 publications, 2 books and a monography in the field of Technical Cybernetics and Electrochemistry (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy).
