IDEAL Cell: Principal Collaborators
Daniel Broussaud has spent his whole career in R&D for various materials fields, in industry and research institutions alternatively. Graduated in ceramics in early 70’s he obtained his PhD and has worked on high performance ceramics in General Electric Company. As head of the Ceramics group at Ecole des Mines in the 80’s he took an active part in the adventurous ceramics-for-engines story through his research team and his involvement in Ceramic Societies, French, European and American as well. After 15 years back in industry – Rhône Poulenc and Saint Gobain – where he has developed his competencies in other materials and domains, plastics, rubber, catalyst, construction… and most important, in project and team management, he was appointed by Armines to help research staff of the Centre of Materials building up European projects within the 6th, and later the 7th Framework Programme as a relay of the European Affairs Dpt of Armines. His duty now is to take in charge all contractual research proposals, either through aided programmes – national and European – or in direct with companies, dealing with financial and organizational aspects.
