News: International Workshop ADVANCES AND INNOVATIONS IN SOFCs 2: From Materials to Systems
September 11-16, 2008 Katarino, Bulgaria

This Workshop is organized with funding from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement No 213389.

Workshop LogoThe International Workshop Advances and Innovations in SOFC 2: From Materials to Systems is the second workshop organized within the framework of the FP7 project “Innovative Dual Membrane Fuel Cell” (IDEAL-Cell). The kernel of the project is the development of an innovative design of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) operating at lower (700-600oC) temperatures. The new concept, which combines the advantages, and eliminates the disadvantages of both oxygen-conducting and proton-conducting SOFCs, ensuring the production of the water in a third separate compartment, has been successfully proved and has entered an optimization stage.

The relation of the project to the most advanced and innovative oxygen- and proton-conducting solid oxide materials and innovative designs determines the wide scope of the workshop topics and the interest in multidisciplinary approaches for their elucidation.

In addition to the oral and poster presentations, multidisciplinary educational and review lectures (training courses) and discussion sessions will take place.

Particular attention is given to the active participation of junior scientists for whom a special oral presentation session is planned.

The International Workshop Advances and Innovations in SOFCs 2: From Materials to Systems is organized as to provide the participants - senior and junior researchers working in the field of SOFCs with enhanced opportunities for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and achievements.

The Workshop will be followed by the Fourth Consortium Meeting of the IDEAL-Cell project.

More detailed information is available at the Workshop website.
